UIN Ar-raniry students held teleconference with American teacher

Students from Dakwah Faculty at Islamic State University (UIN) Ar-Raniry has made a teleconference with American Embassy’s @america

ACEHTREND.CO: Banda Aceh, 16 January 2016 – Students from Dakwah Faculty at Islamic State University (UIN) Ar-Raniry has made a teleconference with American Embassy’s @america at Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Building, UIN Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh, on Saturday (16/01).

They did the interaction by using a web camera and internet connection to communicate with an American English tutor, Deborah Jacob in Jakarta.

According to the Dean of Dakwah Faculty, A. Rani Usman, this program is planned for students to communicate with other people, not only people from Indonesia, but also people from all over the world.

“Right now, we live in a global village where we can do anything not only here, but also everywhere in the world by using the technology,” he said.

Rani added that this program is to prepare students from international class and the university as one of the best institutions in Aceh.

“I hope this program will make students improving their knowledge, especially for students of Dakwah Faculty,” he wished.

One of the students who joined the program, Muizzatun Hasanah said that the program is an effort from the Dean of Dakwah Faculty to upgrade English skills among the the students.

“I think, this program is very useful, especially for communication students where students have to master English in international class,” she explained.

Randi, who is also one of the Dakwah students stated that the program is good effort to improve the grade of the Dakwah Faculty.

Based on information from the Dakwah Faculty, similar programs will also be held in the future by using teleconference.

It is planned on 27 January 2016, students will held a teleconference discussing about journalism for social change with University of California in Berkeley.
